John Bush, former Council member and former Vice Chairman of the tribe, has walked from this life today. John, having been raised in the community, has rich family and cultural ties to his homeland and people. John was an founding and active member of the Sons of Three Fires drum group and was a dancer at many Pow-Wows in past years. John believed in a sound, ethical Tribal Government and provided lasting input on the formation and operation of our current Tribal Government structure.
John was a tremendous supporter of the environment and he was aware of modern society’s impact on the native hunting, fishing, trapping and clean water. John served on the youth committee and understood the need for strong leadership for our youth to look up to, and to mold and focus the youth in the good ways. John also understood the need to be a solid contributor and supporter to his local community. He owned property, paid his taxes, raised his children in the local school system. He also was faithful member and attendee of the Bradley Indian Mission for many years.
