Kristi Lynn (Tiggleman) Hovind

February 28, 1977 ~ January 9, 2019 (age 41)

Kristi Lynn (Tiggleman) Hovind, 41, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord on January 9, 2019 after a valiant 25 year battle with Lupus. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and special friend.

Kristi is survived by her son, Kenneth Jay Hovind, her sisters, Amy (Sheri) Tiggleman and Vicki Lewis, her father Frank (Judy) Tiggleman, half-brother Mike (Jill) Tiggleman, aunt Donna (Don) Dekema, uncle Ken (Wanda) Tiggleman, aunt Shirley Suchomski. She loved spending time with her nieces Sonya and Andrea and most recently being a great-aunt to Oliver and Colter. Kristi was also blessed with her wonderful Godparents, Danny & Nancy Truskowski, as well as cousins on both the Tiggleman and Wisniewski sides of the family. She leaves behind her dear friends Lisa Kollar Cassini and family, Mary Podskalan (Trent, Alyssa & Rylee), Ben & Jessica Orange and Robert (Uber) Riekkola. Kristi leaves behind so many special friends too numerous to even count, which is a testament to her amazing ability to connect with others and make lasting bonds.
Kristi never let her disease define her or hold her back. She had a zest for life that was as admirable as it was exhausting to keep up with. Kristi touched all who were blessed to know her, always ready with a smile, a kind word, or a hug, even as she struggled through many of life’s health challenges. She always had room in her heart for love and made everyone feel special. She forged wonderful lifelong friendships with so many – from her days at St. Stan’s and Wayland High School, to the jobs she loved at Continental Airlines, the Weather Office and at Booking.com. Her special love for kids of all ages was apparent in her “second mom” role to many. Even in her frequent doctor visits or hospital stays, she was always ready with a smile and a story.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mary Tiggleman, and her precious Payton.
