Louise Ann Nickels, age 88 of Lake City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. She was born in Wayland Township on April 11, 1930 to Charles and Irene Kuhtic who predeceased her. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frederick Duane Moore in 1975 and Norman Nickels in 2004; her son, Michael Duane Moore, sister Marcelline Kuhtic; and brother Charles Kuhtic Jr.
She is survived by her children; Daire (Bruce) Rendon, Renee (Ray) Lillie, Debra (Jerry) Neff, Mathew (Tiffany) Moore, and Tammy Moore-Abbatte; step children; Virginia (Jerry) Mauchmer, Norma (Gerard) Kwiatkowski, David (Robin) Nickels, Shirley (Daryl) VanderPloeg, Rosemary (Doc) Tilma, Dolores (Steve) Debri, Carol (Richard) Wierenga, and Jay (Kathy) Nickels; sister, Elaine Kovac, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Louise loved traveling with Norm. They rode motorcycles or traveled by RV through 49 states, spending retirement years in the Rio Grande Valley where several of their grandchildren visited. Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life. After Norm’s death in 2004, Louise moved to Lake City. In her last years, she was an active parish member at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Lake City where she had many friends.
A celebration of Louise’ life will take place with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM, Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM, with a Rosary service at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Kubiak Cook Funeral Services, 312 N Main St, Wayland.
Cremation has taken place.
