Linda Lue Hays passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 after a long illness.
Linda is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Linda was an artist. Her artistic talents shone through and influenced many people. From the margins of books and notes, to large-scale paintings, Linda created. She illustrated the places she lived, the places she visited, and the family moments she loved. Most of all, art provided peace and fulfillment to Linda. She lent her gifts for designing and crafting to the organizations for which she volunteered, whether by making promotional materials for PTA, or organizing creative projects for the 4-H group she launched. Together, Paul and Linda spent many years as active and serving members of their faith community. Linda also enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, hosting family and friends, and travel. She traveled extensively, home and abroad, sharing adventures with her family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Beverly Crumrine and husband, Paul Hays. She is survived by her children and their spouses Ann and Bryan Hanshaw, Mary and Robert Tennant, and Nathan and Amy Hays. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
Per Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be in Lee’s Summit (Missouri) Historical Cemetery, alongside her beloved Paul. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In memory of Linda, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. The family welcomes viewers to share a memory here on the Tribute Wall above.
The family also wishes to recognize and to express their gratitude for the many individuals who, over the years, provided friendship and care for Linda.
